AI Developer (Agents & Automation) (m/f/d)
Purpose of the role
We are looking for an AI Engineer who thrives at the intersection of distributed systems, AI architecture, and real-world automation.
Your mission
- Develop and implement AI-driven features such as intelligent agents, knowledge assistants, and workflow automation tools
- Build and improve agent capabilities including tool usage, memory handling, context management, and task execution
- Create Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and integrate knowledge retrieval using vector databases
- Integrate LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source models) into product features
- Build data ingestion pipelines connecting AI systems to internal knowledge bases, external APIs, and enterprise systems
- Implement streaming responses, background processing, and task execution mechanisms for AI workflows
- Evaluate and benchmark different AI tools, models, and prompting strategies to improve performance and reliability
- Monitor and improve AI behaviour through logging, testing, evaluation, and iterative optimization
- Optimize AI features for latency, cost-efficiency, and real-world usability
- Contribute to continuous improvement of AI capabilities and experimentation with emerging technologies
Your profile
- Strong backend engineering experience in Python (minimum 5 years)
- Experience designing scalable distributed systems and async architectures
- Hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar)
- Deep understanding of RAG architectures, embeddings, vector search, and knowledge retrieval
- Experience with voice AI, streaming inference, or real-time systems
- Experience integrating LLM APIs and designing reliable AI workflows
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, caching layers, queues (Celery / Redis / RabbitMQ)
- Strong engineering mindset: testing, monitoring, logging, security, and Performance tuning
- Ability to translate experimental AI ideas into stable production features
- Graph-based reasoning systems / knowledge graphs
- Model evaluation frameworks and prompt optimization strategies
- Experience with context engineering
- Cost optimization strategies for large-scale LLM usage
- Experience with Docker, cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS), and CI/CD pipelines
